Where’s the coolest place you’ve played?
We played at The Red Room in Tucson Arizona. We each got a free meal and anything we wanted to drink all night long. It was a recipe for one of the greatest nights ever. We played to a packed house with two of our favorite bands: The Vision of a Dying World, and Golden Boots. By the end of the night we were stumbling down the streets of downtown Tucson arm in arm.
Do you guys find you get laid more because of your music?
We are too into each other to share each other, so no.
Is there anything on your ipods that you guys are embarrassed to have?
Spencer has XTC and Huey Lewis. Sorry Spencer.
Future Plans?
Drive the whole band to the heart of Texas and spend a couple of weeks there recording our next album.
Any last words gentlemen?
Yeah, we are releasing a new EP on Single Screen Records really soon and touring the east coast in February.
What’s behind the name Red Feathers, is it from that movie, Troop Beverly Hills?
Since we are all former girl scouts, we love that movie, but the name actually comes from a lyric in one of our songs called “Where Have We Come?” It will be on our new EP.
How do you guys all know each other?
We all grew up in San Diego and share the same circle of friends, but the five of us really bonded and now are more like a family than a group of friends. We do everything together.
How was it having your music in the new Osiris Video, Feed the Need?
Do you remember Jackie Joyner’s reaction to winning the gold medal in the 1984 Summer Olympics? It was really cool to have our music in a video with some of our favorite skaters like Shuriken Shannon and John Rattray.
How would you guys describe your music to the world?
We sound like what we love.
What are some of your musical influences?
We all have different favorite bands, so we draw from a really big pool of influences. Off the top of our heads: Each other. Daniel Johnston. Bob Dylan. The Beatles. Terry Hall. Brian Wilson. Abe Deleon. Tom Waits. BRMC. Pink Floyd. The Kinks. The Smiths. Television. Talking Heads. Elliott Smith. The Walkmen. Neutral Milk Hotel. Gospel, Blues, and Soul music. Good song writing. Good songwriters. Melody.
